The Foutas
The hammam sheet is known in Tunisia under the name of Fouta.
It is the men and not the women who weave it, the handling of the semi-automatic looms requires a lot of physical strength. A fouta accompanies everyday life: the more you wash it, the more it gains in flexibility and beauty.
Its size is always the same: 200 cm x100 cm (for the body).
The small Fouta (in principle for the hair) measures 50 cm x 70 cm.
If the fouta is a wonderful towel to roll up after a shower, it is easily diverted and becomes, depending on the circumstances, a superb beach towel, an improvised tablecloth or a providential plaid.
This range is 100% cotton with a pretty fringed finish.
Cotton voile towels are lighter, perfect as a sarong or lightweight towels for the summer and the beach. An airy feel for an ultra light fabric, fringed finish (100% cotton).
